Christmas Eve 2010

I surprised the boys late this Christmas Eve with a trip to Dallas to see Daddy. Kevin was flying for Delta and his Christmas Eve layover happened to be at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport. After I took the boys to the Christmas Eve church service, I told them we were going to pick up our annual Chinese food meal at a different place this year. I put in a DVD for them to watch in the car and no one seemed to really question the over an hour drive out to Dallas. When we finally got to the hotel, I had to make up an excuse to go in and a few minutes later Daddy got off the hotel shuttle. The boys couldn't believe it and Joe asked, "Mommy, did you know that Daddy was going to be here?" It was fun to watch their excitement as they greeted Kevin and we got to have a Christmas Eve meal together at IHOP...nothing else was open at 9pm on Christmas Eve - so no Chinese dinner this year. I brought the boys' jammies and got them all ready for bed before I left for the over an hour ride back to Aledo. It was a fun evening for all of us and I am so glad we did it.
