Consultation with GI Doctor
We have an appointment scheduled for Joe with a pediatric gastroenterologist on Wednesday for a consultation. At this appointment we will learn more about the procedure Joe will have and how we need to prepare for it. We do not yet have a date set for the colonoscopy. Our oncologist called tonight to check on us and I was able to ask him some more questions. He thinks that the colonoscopy may not occur until next Tuesday so that Joe can be seen at the clinic closest to Cook Children's hospital downtown - this would be a precaution in the event the mass in the colon is a collection of blood vessels (similar to Joe's birthmark) and causes excessive bleeding upon biopsy. We should find out more information at the appointment on Wednesday and get a date for this procedure. After further discussions with the GI doctor, our oncologist still remains hopeful of this situation and feels that it would be alright to wait until Tuesday for the colonoscopy. We are so thankful for all of the prayers and support we receive. We are confident that prayer works! Please pray for a good outcome from this procedure, patience to wait until next week for the results, and peace.
