We had the consultation appointment with the GI doctor this morning. Joe will have an upper and lower scope (going in from both directions...mouth and bottom) on Tuesday. The time is not yet set as they will be working him into their schedule that day but most likely it will be mid-morning. The doctor had no additional information or speculation as to what the mass could be. His intention is to go in and take a look with the scope. If it is as simple as a benign polyp it can be removed. If it is a lesion, they will take a biopsy and send it to the lab; then we will have to wait several days for the results. If it is a vascular lesion, Joe may have to have surgery to remove it. Please pray for the best possible outcome and results of this procedure. Joe will have to prepare for this procedure by taking mild laxatives over the weekend and then have a clear liquid diet on Monday. He will be put under general anesthesia for the scope. Thank you for all your concern and continued prayers!
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Liz, Kevin and Boys, we have been praying for Joe since I spoke to Kevin at the ballfields last weekend. Please let me know if I can watch any of the kids, I have nothing on on Tuesday and would be happy to come and sit for you all.
Love to all
Kellie, Aaron and kids
Liz - I have been checking your blog frequently today for a report about Joe and the doctor visit. So glad you were able to have the appointment today and thrilled that they will be able to work Joe in on Tuesday!
I am sure it will be a tough weekend with all the prep Joe is required to do to prepare for Tuesday. Hang in there and stay strong! Joe is so lucky to have such an incredible mom, dad and family to help him, support him and cheer him on as he fights this battle.
We continue to pray for all of you. Praying for strength, peace and joy for your family. Remember the ENTIRE Dean family is just a phone call away if you need anything - day or night.
Liz and Kevin, I am preaching on trust this Sunday and have thought about you guys and Joe alot as I have prepared this week. The Romans verse on your Sept 24 post is the one I planned to use as my benediction. We are praying for Joe and for you and the rest of the boys.
Trusting our Heavenly Father!!! I'm so thankful they were able to get Joe in on Tuesday.
I will keep my orange bracelet on the entire time I'm in Haiti and will be sending you all my love and prayers!! I'll get Trey to give me your updates...Love love love!!
Liz and Kevin, we are speaking the word over Joe. Today is a special day here in Jerusalem when everyone receives a blessing. We are thinking of Joe and send our blessings to him. May the Lord bless you and keep you Joe. May He turn his face towards you and give you peace.
