April 12 - Final Update
Joe finally made it back to the room after much anticipation. It was so good to see him even though he was quite groggy. While they were getting him situated back here he became quite uncomfortable with pain and began wincing and jerking. It was so hard to watch Joe in pain without being able to do anything about it...one of the hardest parts of the day. After some different meds and a little time he was able to relax. He is having some side effects of the epideral like pain in his neck and itching. His face was extremely itchy and I was able to rub it until the medicine to help with this was ordered and arrived. Now that his pain and side effects are under control he wants to play Webkinz on the big T.V. screen compter in his room. He can't play hinmslef as he is lying real still but he likes to tell Daddy what games to play and direct him around to all the Webkinz rooms. Joe is dozing in and out and has eaten 2 popsicles and had some apple juice and gatorade to drink. He has flashed us some of his beautiful smiles and we know he will be able to bounce back from this. We are blessed that today went as well as it did and we are thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ for watching over our precious son.

Hi Joe. It's Jonah. I hope you are feeling better and that you can come home soon. Maybe you can play with your legos. My mom says I can come visit you when you can have a friend at the hospital. Get better.
Your Friend,
Jonah
Grateful to read the updates - thank you for sharing via computer so all of us praying for Joe and your family know how the Lord is moving through this situation. Any guy who can down some popsicles and gatorade is bound to be doing well! Bless y'all - we pray continually - thanking the Lord in all things He is so faithful.
We love you guys and we are on our knees praying. Thank the LORD for good doctors! Tell Joe the Symes family is pullin' for him.
