Monday, April 26, 2010 - Better Day

Things are better for Joe today. He has not vomited all day and has even asked to eat some pancakes. He has kept fluids down and been more comfortable in general. We had his radiation appointment at 9:15 this morning and I think we were in and out in about 15 minutes - it is not a lengthy process now that everything is planned out. He was still weak and wanted to be carried and rode in a wheelchair this morning, but he is getting around better this afternoon on his own. He got more rest today and is finally keeping some food and fluids down. Praise God! The doctor said this might be a rough week for Joe but so far today is better than the past 3 days. I think the chemotherapy is the harder treatment on him so far...we'll see. He doesn't have chemo again until Thursday, thankfully that is only one time a week. He will have radiation every morning this week. Thanks for your prayers for Joe to keep things down...God is faithful and is answering them!

So glad to hear Joe did well this morning. I have really enjoyed seeing the pics of him from baseball and blowing the bubbles. I am just thinking of how blessed Joe is to have godly parents like you and Kevin who depend so fully on the Lord for his healing. Love you all!!

I was happy to see Ben when I dropped Sydney off at Sunday School yesterday for 11:00 service. I was hoping to run in to you for a hug. Sorry I missed you. Still praying. Our homeschool group has park days on Thursdays (when the weather is nice)at noon at Cherry Park ..I will be happy to pick up Ben and bring him with us. We are low on boys!Or you can all join us if Joe is feeling up to it. Sometimes Jenny and Mary Beth's kids are there.

Paige and Haynie sent your blog so we are keeping up with Joe and your family during this really difficult time. We have joined all of your friends and family with our prayers for Joe and y'all. Our prayer is that our Great Physisian will restore Joe to full health and that your faith will continue to sustain and strengthen you and that God will be glorified through your witness of His power and grace in your lives.

Love and hugs,
Heather and Charlie Mayhew
