Tuesday, April 20 - Aledo Baseball Game

Our neighbor's son plays on the Aledo Varsity Baseball team and their family helped arrange with Aledo Coach Ryan McCurley for Joe to attend the game tonight and be an honorary ball boy. Before the game, Coach McCurley and the team presented Joe with a jersey signed by all of the players and coaches and let him sit in the dugout during the game. This was a huge morale boost for Joe and hopefully will carry him through his first series of treatments tomorrow. Kevin and I along with Ben, Will and Grandpa were able to watch Joe as he got his name announced and lined up on the field with all the players before and after the game. He was part of their pregame prayer and their huddles. Look close in the pictures to see him:) All of the coaches and young men on the team were so polite and friendly - thanks to all of you for making this so special for our son! We are very proud of our community and continue to be blessed by so many. Way to go Aledo Baseball with your victory over Springtown...11 to 1! Here are a few pictures of our evening...I have a lot so I will post even more tomorrow.

Looks like Joe is having too much fun! Today will be scary for him, but by the looks of his recovery thus far, I think Joe will take it all in his stride. Praying that Joe's treatment today is a success in that it takes away the bad cells so his body can replenish good ones. I pray that Joe can tolerate the procedure well.
It's just like baseball Joe - one base at a time!

That's so special to see Joe with the baseball team. His smile is priceless! I'll be praying all day today and ceaselessly through his treatment that his body handles these strange new chemicals and radiation amazing well.
Praying peace and stamina for you and Kevin too!
Love you!
