I am a little late in posting a timely entry updating Joe's progress due to being sick. A virus went through all the boys this past week and hit me this weekend. I have been in bed and Kevin has been very busy taking care of our four back to normal energetic boys. I hope he doesn't get sick! As for Joe's chemotherapy on Friday, he just received the Vincristine and he once again handled it very well. After my little bout with a virus this weekend, I am all the more thankful that Joe bounces back so quickly and is so resilient. His appetite is still a little diminished but he is eating and holding everything down. While we were at Joe's appointment, Becky Dean, a friend we met through baseball, watched the other three boys. She brought her "babysitting bag" complete with toys, puppets and tent. Needless to say, they all had a great time with Mrs. Dean - thanks Becky! Next week Joe will get the Vincristine and Dactinomycin. This was the combination he received the first week of his chemotherapy that caused terrible vomiting and sickness. He will only get the medicine at 50 percent strength this time since it is within a certain time frame of finishing his radiation. Please pray that Joe will not have such a rough time with the chemotherapy this Friday and he will be able to tolerate it with minimal discomfort.
On another note, Joe finally lost his front tooth.
